This model Sure-Start functions as a Three Phase softstarter and connects between the contactor and the motor. While it does reduce the starting current and provide compressor reverse rotation protection, its main function is to provide a more controlled start to limit the mechanical noise and shock of a three phase DOL start. The softstarter is designed to learn the motor characteristics of the load. After a few starts it will have automatically adjusted itself to the load and the electrical supply impedance at the site. |
