The single phase soft starter comes in both a master and a slave version. The soft starter provides a dramatic reduction in startup current (typically by 3 to 4 times) but still provides full startup torque for compressors and motors. The three phase soft starter is designed to reduce mechanical shock and noise caused by many three phase motors locked rotor amperage (LRA). The soft starters provide automatic optimization of motor current, suitable for 1.5 to 7 horse power motors, and are easy to install.
